Legends capture NJCAA Region 13B Title, Earning Ticket to Nationals

The Legends have a lot to celebrate today after bringing home the Region 13B/North Plains District B Championship. The Legends toppled Rochester Community & Technical College 3-1 on Friday, October 27, and followed up with a 3-1 finish against M State on Saturday, October 28 to clinch the title. The team will now prepare for the 2023 NJCAA Division III Volleyball Championship, scheduled for November 9-11, 2023 at Alliant Energy Powerhouse Arena in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. National tournament seedings will be announced on October 31 at 1:00 PM central time, on the NJCAA Network.

Kailey Fischer, sophomore hitter, was named Region 13B MVP, and head coach Mitch McGuire was named Region 13B Coach of the Year.

The Legends are in their second season as a team, with a roster that split nearly 50-50 between freshmen and sophomores. They finished the regular season as the #1 seed in the MCAC North, and currently have a record of 18-6.

Century College was the Region 13A/North Plains District A Champion. As of 10/28/2023 at 6:15pm, other district champions include Northampton (PA), Raritan Valley (NJ), Harper (IL), Caldwell Tech (NC), Monroe College - Bronx (NY), and Dutchess (NY).
