Hamman 50th at DI National Championship
This was Hamman's second appearance at nationals.
Legends Golfer Abby Hamman competed at the NJCAA DI Women's National Championship, her second appearance at the competition. After coming off of a successful fall season she was ready to play nationals for her last time as an Alexandria Legend. This tournament was a four-day event held in Garden City at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course.
Coach Lauren Stockmoe commended Hamman's performance, saying, "Abby has always been a strong and consistent player during her time here and it really showed this last week in Garden City. This 4-day tournament is the toughest of the year as she was battling windy conditions all week and still posted 4 good scores to round out her season with us."
Hamman finished T50, an amazing finish in the DI competition. "It was a great week to end my collegiate golf career," she said. "It was hard, with the spring we had, to jump back into it after practicing inside, but I was happy to finally be outside. I'm so thankful for Alex Tech and the Foundation for the opportunity to attend nationals again. I have loved being able to golf for the Tech and have made some memories that will last forever."
Hamman graduated ATCC with degrees in Liberal Arts & Sciences and Medical Laboratory Technician. She plans to continue her education at Augustana this fall, to pursue nursing.
