Alexandria College Legends Men's soccer team defeated the Riverland Community College Blue Devils in Alexandria, Minn., September 23.
The Legends 3-0 victory over the Blue Devils moved the Legends to first place spot in the conference.
During the game, the Legends offense pressed hard with Dahir Mohamed (Willmar) scoring a goal and driving for two assists. Ricardo Contreras (Willmar) scored a goal and had one assist, and Jordy Contreras (Willmar) scored the Legends third goal.
Legends defense was on point with goal keeper Edwin Lopez (Willmar) tallying five saves. Defenders Roberto Gomez Diaz (Chaska) and Abraham Gonzalez (Pelican Rapids) played hard all afternoon contributing to the Legends shutout.
"It was a great team win and I'm glad that Dahir and I were able to play so well together and help each other score," said Ricardo Contreras, Legends midfielder. "My brother [Jordy] also scored a great goal to help really seal the win. I'm very proud of everyone on the team and looking forward to the rest of the season."
The Legends Men's Soccer will compete at home against the Lake Superior College Ice Hawks on Sept. 29, at 7:00 p.m.
