Legends Men's Golf Finishes Seventh at North Central District Championship.
The Alexandria Technical & Community College Legends Men's Golf team finished their season with a strong performance at the North Central District Championship at Gates Park Golf Course, on May 6, 2024.
The Alexandria Technical & Community College Legends Men's Golf team finished their season with a strong performance at the North Central District Championship at Gates Park Golf Course, on May 6, 2024.
Entering the tournament ranked 15th nationally, the Legends faced a formidable field of 14 teams, including seven ranked in the NJCAA DII top 20 and four in the top 10.
Facing steep competition in the nation's top college teams, the Legends finished in seventh place with a collective score of 910 (298-305-307). In the Legends' third district tournament appearance, they have shown remarkable improvement and growth. The future looks bright for the program.
"It was an honor, and I am proud to coach these guys this season," said Head Coach Scott Dirck. "They are amazing young men."
Legends golfer Gannon Walsh echoed these sentiments, noting the high level of competition and the team's determination. "We knew going in we had to play some good golf, knowing how hard the competition was going to be. We fell a little short, but it was a fun season and I am looking forward to seeing what all the guys do in the future." Walsh graduated this year from the Cybersecurity, Virtualization, & Networking program.
