Alexandria College Legends Anglers shine at the Champions Tour event on St. Croix River.
The Alexandria Technical and Community College fishing team continues to make waves in the competitive angling world, as alumnus Walker Krampitz and current student Ryan Kieke delivered outstanding performances at the latest Champions Tour event on the St. Croix River in Hudson, Wis., August 6, 2024.

Krampitz claimed first place for the second time in a Champions Tour event. Krampitz, a 2023 graduate of Alexandria College, secured first place with an impressive 32 fish totaling 73 pounds 13 ounces. His average fish weight was 2 pounds 4.886 ounces, with his largest catch weighing in at 3 pounds 1 ounce. This victory marks Krampitz's second Champions Tour win, following his success at last year's event on the Lake Le Homme Dieu Chain in Alexandria, Minn.
"St. Croix will forever hold a place in my heart for the amount of fish and fun that there is to be had out there," said Krampitz. "I just want to thank everyone who has supported me through this year, from sponsors to friends and family."
Krampitz, who remains actively involved with Alexandria College, continues to support his alma mater by recruiting at events and proudly displaying the Alexandria College Legends name on his boat.
Ryan Kieke finished strong in sixth place. Kieke, a current student and Legends Angler at Alexandria College, showcased his talent by catching 27 fish weighing a total of 48 pounds 14 ounces, with an average weight of 1 pound 12.99 ounces. His largest catch was an impressive 3 pounds 5 ounces.
"I had a blast on the St. Croix River for the last regular season stop of the Champions Tour," Kieke shared. "I ended up with my best finish yet in sixth place. Congrats to the man himself, Walker Krampitz, on the win."
The Champions Tour event on the St. Croix River proved to be another platform for Alexandria College anglers to demonstrate their exceptional skills and sportsmanship. The college community is proud of both Krampitz and Kieke for their achievements and their ongoing commitment to excellence both on and off the water.
