Legends Baseball inaugural season begins March 1
Full 52-game schedule is now available.
The inaugural Legends Baseball schedule will see the team playing its first official game at March 1 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis in a double header against Minnesota North Hibbing.
Head Coach Jason Fischer is excited to start playing games that count.
"There has been a lot of time, effort and money spent in order to make this happen. I am anxiously excited to see how it all comes together," Fischer said.
The Legends will play a 20-game conference schedule and a total of 52 games in its first season. All games will be available to follow via I-Score.
Legends Baseball will head to Florida over spring break for 12 games starting March 7. The trip will be highlighted by games against Niagara College, Oakton College and Owens College. All three are nationally pre-season ranked; fourth, sixth and ninth respectively. Both Niagara and Oakton are regulars in the NJCAA national tournament.
Coach Fischer expects the first 14 games of the season to provide a good indicator as to the talent of his team.
"We have a really tough early season schedule. Playing three of the top 15 ranked teams will tell us how well we can compete at the national level. These games will also prepare us for what might be the toughest conference in the Minnesota College Athletics Conference (MCAC)," Fischer said.
The first-ever Legends Baseball home game is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on April 7. Most home games will be played at Knute Nelson Stadium, while one double header will be held at the field in Carlos.
